MacBook Pro is the first Aplle laptop based on Intel's Santa Rosa chipset, which increases bus speed from 667MHz to 800MHz.

Select graphics performance of new MacBook Pro laptop is 50 percent faster compared to the previous model based on Intel Core Duo processor.

Updated MacBook Pro laptop is based on Intel's Core 2 Duo microprocessor with 4MB cache, 800MHz frontside bus, and 2GB of 667MHz DDR SDRAM memory. It is equipped with built-in Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n standard wireless networking, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, iSight cameras, ExpressCard/34 expansion.

This laptop is also the first to use LED-backlit displays, which save battery life, adding 30 more minutes to an hour. Previous CCFL (Cold Cathode Florescent Lamp) displays needed warm up time, but new LED displays achieve their full brightness without any delay. LED displays are available on 15 inch laptops.

The 17-inch MacBook Pro still uses CCFL display with 1680 x 1050 pixels standard resolution, but with an extra $100 payment a user can order 1900 x 1200 pixels resolution, which allows to watch high definition videos in full vertical resolution.

Previous ATI's Mobility Radeon graphics processor is replaced with Nvidia's new "Lumenex Engine" graphics processor Nvidia's GeForce 8600M GT with 128 bit High Dynamic Range support and 16x Full Screen Anti-Aliasing support. This greatly increases laptop's graphics performance.

New MacBook Pro laptop also has a plenty of ports for other device to connect: two USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire 800 port, FireWire 400 port, audio line in, audio line out for headphone, Apple Remote and infrared port, DVI connector which can connect a display up to 30 inch.

Apple can ship various configurations of the laptop. 15 inch model with 2.2GHz processor, 128MB VRAM, 120GB hard drive will cost $1,999. Another 15 inch model with 2.4GHz processor, 256MB VRAM, 160GB hard drive will cost $2,499. 17 inch model with 2.4GHz processor, 256MB VRAM, 160GB hard drive will cost $2,799. A 17 inch model with higher display resolution and same configurations will add $100 to the price.

All MacBook Pro laptops are equipped with Apple's standard iLife applications such as Mail, iCal, iChat AV, Safari, Front Row, and Photo Booth. By Ruzan Harutyunyan for HULIQ
