Kids Can Be Free At Christmas

One of the country's most popular tourist attractions will be open over the Christmas holiday period - thereby offering a respite from the Christmas festivities. Better still, it's free to children under 16 years old.

With plenty of indoor and outdoor space for children to blow off steam and no need to whisper in the exhibition areas, the Imperial War Museum Duxford is a particularly family friendly Museum with lots to see. As Europe's top aviation museum and heritage complex, Duxford's world-famous collection of over 200 historic aircraft draws visitors from all over Britain and all the facilities needed for a great day out are available, including ample free parking, a licensed restaurant and shops.

"We very much hope that people will take this opportunity to come and discover IWM Duxford over the holiday period." says Tracey Woods, Duxford's Marketing & Public Relations Manager. "On average, visitors will spend some 5 1/2 hours exploring Duxford and enjoying all it has to offer. There's plenty to see including the dramatic new £25 million AirSpace exhibition telling the story of Britain's civil and military aviation, past, present and future."

The Museum is open from 10.00 am every day except 24-26 December and is FREE for children under 16 years. Duxford is located just south of Cambridge on the M11, being easily accessible from the A14, A1, M1 & the North.
