As Exhibit Patron of Italian Arts & Design: The 20th Century at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), and in preparation for the demolition of its One Bedford presentation centre and model suite, Lanterra Developments Ltd. will host a One Bedford Contents Auction on Thursday, November 30th, 2006 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm (bids close at 8:00 pm), to help support this sponsorship commitment to the ROM. Items available will range in retail value from approximately $36,000 to $700, with opening bids substantially less.
The public is invited to visit One Bedford at 232 Bloor Street West, Toronto, to preview the luxurious furnishings, fabulous artwork and fine fittings that are up for auction. This exceptional grouping of items is highlighted by signature pieces by Barbara Barry.
"We're pleased that One Bedford will soon rise as part of The Annex," said Lanterra Developments Chairman Mark Mandelbaum. "Exceptional design, in all its many facets, is a cornerstone of the Lanterra condominium philosophy, and it is our pleasure to offer support to this important exhibit at the ROM, located just down the street from us in the neighbouring Bloor-Yorkville Area."
"The ROM is delighted that One Bedford has devised this creative way to support our Italian Arts & Design exhibition,"Â said William Thorsell, ROM Director and CEO. "We're also pleased that the condominium's proximity to the expanded Museum is marketed as a key selling feature. We look forward to welcoming the new residents of One Bedford to our community."
All Lanterra communities have a common denominator, as each represents real value for today's purchasers by bringing together the best combination of architecture and interior design in desirable locations. One Bedford will occupy nearly an entire city block (on the north side of Bloor running east from Bedford), and first occupancy is slated for June 2009.
Italian Arts & Design: The 20th Century is a stunning exhibition of 300 remarkable works, from paintings to furniture, which represents the diverse and complex ways that architects, artists and industrial designers saw and represented Italian society after 1900. The exhibition runs at the ROM until January 7, 2007.
