This week Eosta has launched two new varieties of organic cucumbers on the German-speaking market: the Frühlingsgurke and the Urgurke. Successful shop tests at different Alnatura shops in Germany have shown that the new varieties are popular with the consumer.
The Urgurke is a genuinely forgotten variety of cucumber: dark green, normal size with a rough skin. This variety has been revived due to its special qualities and its appearance. The Frühlingsgurke is a light green medium-sized cucumber with an exceptional fresh taste. The Urgurke is sold per piece and the Frühlingsgurke per 2 pieces in a biodegradable packaging.
The new varieties will be launched shortly on the English market as Spring Cucumber and Wild Cucumber and on the Dutch market as Oerkomkommer and Lentekomkommer.
The Frühlingsgurke and the Urgurke have been selected from among 50 varieties by the Centre of Genetic Sources, Enza and Eosta.-PR Newswire, UK
