Tony Awards: Who Won What

The first eight winners of the American Theatre Wing's 2007 Tony Awards® were announced on Sunday, June 10 from the stage at Radio City Music Hall®. Captured in an exclusive live webcast on TonyAwards.com, these Creative Arts Awards were bestowed in the half hour before the telecast began, in a segment of the ceremony sponsored by Hilton Hotels. And the winners are (list will be updated as the evening continues):

The Regional Theatre Tony Award - the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA. Artistic Director Susan V. Both accepted. The award was accompanied by a grant of $25,000 from Visa.

Duncan Sheik won the Best Orchestration award for Spring Awakening (he is also the show's composer). Spring Awakening's Kevin Adams took the Best Lighting Design of a Musical award.

Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia received all three Design of a Play awards- Lighting, Costume, and Scenic Design awards.

Grey Gardens took its first award when William Ivey Long received the Tony for Best Costume Design of a Musical.

And Mary Poppins won the Scenic Design of a Musical award.

The Tony Ceremony began with League of American Theatres and Producers Chairman Gerald Schoenfeld introducing Celeste Holm. The Broadway veteran, now 90, stood at her seat in the Hall, and in turn received a standing ovation from the audience.
