At a time when extensive restructuring is driving the big aircraft manufacturers (Airbus, Boeing, etc.) to outsource a large proportion of their production activities, new subcontractors are sought, not only by the aircraft manufacturers but also by their suppliers, which in turn are looking for competent SMEs to support them and lend specific expertise.
To ensure that companies at all levels of this tier system make the contacts they need, the organisers of the 47th International Paris Air Show, with the support of the Paris Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIP), the Innovation Relay Centres (CRI) and the Regional Development Agency (ARD), are offering an innovative new service this year - the Business & Technology Forum.
550 companies will get together over 3 days, from 10.00 to 18.00 from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 June 2007, either on the exhibitor's stand or in a centrally-located pavilion. Almost 30 key prime contractors (Airbus, EADS, Dassault Aviation, Eurocopter, Boeing, Finmeccanica, AVIC I) have already agreed to participate in the Forum and will be sending their purchasing teams.
The Forum will include presentations on specific themes, purchasing seminars and one-to-one meetings enabling prime contractors and business leaders from more than 550 SMEs worldwide to introduce themselves, talk and finalize agreements or initiate partnerships. These targeted meetings addressing key supply chain issues will enable all companies, whether exhibitors or visitors, to derive maximum benefit from their presence at the Show.
