St Aloysius Catholic Church Life Teen is heading to Knoxville, TN this summer to help the underprivileged. Over 25 young people will be working on projects involving painting, home repair, yard work, child care, and serving their local food bank. Most projects are in Knoxville and Knox County, but some of their mission work will be in the surrounding counties.

Catholic Heart Work Camp is hosting the summer mission trip on July 5-11, 2009. The Catholic HEART Work camp mission is to revitalize communities and beautify homes for the elderly, disabled and those who cannot afford needed repairs. Their goal is to inspire the youth to serve in their local communities. And secondly, to empower participants to live as disciples of Christ through serving others, as well as, to foster the spiritual growth of each participant through the sacraments, Catholic faith sharing and prayer.

To subsidize the trip to assist our Tennessee neighbors, this spiritual group of teens is inviting the public to attend a “Taste of Italy”, a scrumptious Italian dinner at St Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory on Friday evening May 1, 2009 from 5 – 8 pm. The cost is $7.00 adults; $5.00 children (4 and older); and $25.00 family cap for five and more. Tickets may be purchased at the door and take-out will also be available.

Please help us to inspire on children to share the love of Jesus and serve the neglected, brokenhearted and marginalized by joining us for a delicious meal and community fellowship at St Aloysius on May 1st. St Aloysius is located at 921 Second St NE, Hickory, NC 28601 on the corner of 9th Ave NE and Hwy 127 just North of downtown Hickory. For additional information, contact Billy G at 828-327-2341. Public Welcome!
