
Allied Capital, a business development company, said Wednesday that it had settled a four-year investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission into its valuation practices, Reuters reported.
Allied, which provides debt and equity financing for middle-market companies, settled the SEC's informal investigation without admitting or denying agency allegations, according to Allied and the SEC, Reuters reported.
A separate criminal investigation by the United States attorney's office for the District of Columbia is continuing. Allied is based in Washington, Reuters reported.
