Wii Open For Game Developers

Nintendo will create a new tool called WiiWare to allow game developers create video games for Wii.

Individual game makers or game studios will be able to create video games for Wii, which will be later available for download via Nintendo’s Wii Shop channel.

Games can be designed on general computer, but the final development steps must be done on Wii. The new games will be available for public in early 2008.

Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime said: “WiiWare will give indies armed with small budgets and big ideas will be able to get their original games into the marketplace to see if we can find the next smash hit. WiiWare brings new levels of creativity and value to the ever-growing population of Wii owners."

This tool is a great chance for those developers who have good innovative ideas and small budget. Developing games via WiiWare will cost much lower, but the price for kit is not yet estimated.

Nintendo will not allow ‘Adult Only’ rated games on Wii. Other rated video games will be tested on bugs and compatibility, no other criteria will be considered in allowing games for download. by Ruzan Harutyunyunan for HULIQ.com
