25 year-old Spears, having two sons: 21 month-old Sean Preston and 9 month-old Jayden James – has declared that filing for divorce was a mistake and, she wants to rebuild her marriage. But in response to Britney’s petition, Kevin counter-filed for divorce.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "He thinks Britney's mentally unstable and too young to be a mom. He expects to have full custody of his children one day. "But he loves his kids and, to that extent, he will look after Britney." *
Kevin and Britney currently share custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James, although the terms of their divorce are yet to be finalized.
K-Fed is halting on the proceedings, as he is waiting to see whether his wife slips up again. If she goes on another partying rampage like she did before, then Kevin may have more power while seeking custody of the children. K-Fed, apparently, wants to make sure that the divorce document makes it simple for him to lessen Britney's access to her kids the next time her behavior troubles Kevin.
A source told PEOPLE, "Britney's attorneys are anxious to see Kevin sign off on a divorce. But Kevin and his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan are dragging their heels out of concern over reports of Britney's post-rehab partying." *
Kevin looked after the two young boys while Britney was in rehabilitation center. It claims that Spears is furious at her mom, Lynne, because she visited her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, at her ex-husband Kevin Federline's home.
According to reports, the singer first fell out with Lynne blaming her for sending her to rehab to treat an 'alcohol addiction and post-natal depression'. This month mom was back on side and met up with her daughter for the first time since her stay at the rehab centre. ‘Britney Jean Spears is the sweetest and the most sensitive and loving of all my children. She's just figuring things out,’ told the pop-star’s mother. But now the only thing Britney is figuring out is how to get rid of her mom.
Britney Spears, driving back at those close to her who forced the singer into rehab. The document Britney handed to her mother was not a restraining order as it was informed earlier, reports Tmz.com. Lynn Spears got a fiery letter telling her to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would weaken her ability to be around them. It was a letter from an out-of-state lawyer.
According to a recent post made by Britney it says, “I feel like some of the people in my life made more of some issues than was necessary. I also feel like they knew I was beginning to use my brain for a change and cut some ties, so they wanted to be in more control of my life than me.”
Britney continues to work on her comeback album which will be issued in 2008.
