WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Following a merger with the North Carolina Spine Center in Chapel Hill, Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina, P.A. (OSNC) has added two new specialists to its leading treatment staff. Paul B. Suh, M.D., who specializes in orthopaedic spine surgery, will work from OSNC’s offices in Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and Oxford while Dr. Ingrid Luo-Tseng, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), will practice solely at the Chapel Hill office.
“We are honored to have Dr. Suh and Dr. Luo-Tseng join our dedicated team of specialists,” said Dr. Mark Galland, orthopaedic surgeon and managing partner for OSNC. “Their backgrounds and expertise will complement our staff of highly-skilled physicians and greatly benefit our local patients.”
Dr. Suh has clinical expertise in the treatment and diagnosis of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders, including fractures, slippage or bone tumors of the spine, disc herniations, disc degenerations, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and other spine-related conditions. His extensive experience paired with a non-surgical, conservative approach to the treatment of spinal disorders is well-known and highly-regarded by his patients, colleagues and peers alike.
Dr. Suh is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the North American Spine Society and the Scoliosis Research Society. He completed his medical training and residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Spine Fellowship at Toronto General Hospital. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Suh returned to UNC and served as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics and Head of the Adult Spine Disorder Section.
With more than a decade of experience in PM&R, Dr. Luo-Tseng specializes in the out-patient treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, pain medicine and osteoporosis. She has a special interest in movement disorders, including mobilization of injured workers, as well as spasticity (involuntary muscle contractions that cause debilitating pain and are often the result of stroke), multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and injury to the head or spinal cord. Dr. Luo-Tseng’s treatment approach to spasticity involves the use of trigger point injections to alleviate pain caused by muscles in the arms, legs, lower back and neck.
A Cum Laude graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Luo-Tseng received her M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and completed her residency in Rehabilitation Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. She is board-certified in PM&R and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Both specialists practiced at the North Carolina Spine Center before it merged with OSNC earlier this year. Additionally, the two doctors are currently on staff at Durham Regional Hospital, with Dr. Suh serving the Orthopaedic Surgery department and Dr. Luo-Tseng practicing in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.
