Body Found Identified As Jennifer Hudsons’ Nephew

The body of a 7 year old child found this morning has been identified as that of Julian King, the nephew of actress/singer Jennifer Hudson. A howling dog is the reason neighbors and the police were alerted to the gruesome find. This story got started Friday afternoon when a relative discovered the body of 57 year old Darnell Donerson, Hudson’s mother.

A neighbor told WLS-TV that he saw the vehicle as early as Saturday afternoon, but did not think anything of it. Now, that man regrets not reporting the sighting earlier.

Police had issued an Amber Alert for the missing 7 year old who was last seen leaving the 7000 block of Spokane with an unidentified black male around 3pm. They were seen in a 1994 white Chevy Suburban, which was later identified as having belonged to Jason Hudson. Jason Hudson 29, was the brother of the entertainer and had been shot several times according to reports from news outlets.
By midnight Friday, William Balfour was described by Chicago Police as a “person of interest” and was being questioned as a suspect in the crimes.

It was later learned that Balfour is the estranged husband of Julia Hudson who is not the father of Julian. Balfour has since been turned over to state authorities for parole violation as he has not been charged in any of the crimes. On Sunday, he was transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections “based on his active parole violation unrelated to this investigation.”

According to MSNBC, records from the Corrections Department show Balfour is on parole and spent almost seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.
Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said Balfour would probably remain in state custody until the Illinois Prisoner Review Board looked at his case. It is unknown where he is being held.

The couple John and Lynette Loudon, who reported the vehicle only after taking their dog for a walk and the dog kept barking. “He has a very keen nose,’’ John Louden told the Chicago SunTimes. Loudon went toward the vehicle which matched the description in the Amber Alert and quickly wrote down the license plate number.

“When he came back in, he said, ‘It’s a match.’ I said, ‘Oh, God. I hope that child is not in there,’ ’’ Lynette Louden said.

“I came back in the house and told my wife to call 911,’’ John Louden said. Lynette Louden said police arrived in “two minutes.’’ All of this was told to the Chicago Sun-Times reporter.

It was unclear whether suspect William Balfour had an attorney Sunday, but his mother, Michele Davis Balfour, has denied her son was involved in the killings or with Julian’s disappearance.
