A total of 27 electoral votes are at stake here, in this battleground state. Florida has taken extra precaution to ensure each vote is counted accurately and attributed to the right candidate. No one will ever forget the 2000 presidential election when the world waited for weeks for George W. Bush to eventually be declared winner. The early election results are showing Barack Obama as the winner of that state.
Florida is a swing-state, and the biggest problem according to voting monitors was the particularly long lines, especially those at college campuses. Florida Secretary of State Kurt Browning believes that more than 83% of registered eligible voters would turn out for the historical election.
Although Republicans have won Florida in the last 11 of 14 presidential elections, the polls still show a pretty competitive race. The early election results have Obama ahead, Florida is a must win state for John McCain.
These results are the preliminary exit polls from the 2008 presidential elections for the state of Florida. They will change throughout the evening, so if you have an update, please post the updated results for the state of Florida in the comments area.
McPain/Impalin
I am so GD sick of mcflame constantly addressing his small crowds as "My Friends". He sounds like a corny tent minister on Sunday morning. I am a registered Republican but I have to tell you this. I woke up this morning to one of McCains ads. The one that preaches FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, gloom and doom. About Obamas association with a minister for something the minister did like, over 20 years ago. That was the last straw for me, the attacking from that ancient old asshole. I went to the voting booth and voted Dem all the way. Enough is enough. They can only scare people for so long until it just starts sounding like Charlie Browns Teacher, wah wah wah wa wa. F him and the 'Hate Talk Express" he rode in on. And Sarah Palin who always always always looks like she's sucking on a large dog turd? She can kiss the fattest part of my ass too. Wait, on second thought, no thanks.
