What’s missing is a diamond-encrusted bracelet and ring, which came up missing after Ryder says she left them in her hotel room. Ryder claims someone from Marie Claire was supposed to pick up the missing jewels.
However, French celebrity magazine Voici, reports Ryder as claiming she left the jewels at the hotel’s front desk. The hotel management disputes this; stating they never received any jewels from Ryder. Adding that surveillance footage does not show Ryder handing over the jewels. It is possible that someone else may have had access to Ryder’s room after she checked out and the story was concocted to cover up for the real culprit. Read more about Celebrities.
As of this writing, the jewels are still missing.
When Ryder was convicted of shoplifting in 2001 from Saks Fifth Avenue, she was placed on three years probation and ordered to serve 480 hours of community service. Ryder had this to say at the time of her shoplifting conviction: "I didn't have this tremendous sense of guilt, because I hadn't hurt anyone," she later told Vogue of the "embarrassing" incident.
"Had I physically harmed someone or caused harm to a human being, I think it would have been an entirely different experience."
Just two weeks ago, Ryder became mysteriously ill while on a plane headed to London. The plane was forced to make a special landing so Ryder could be hospitalized, but was later released.
Representatives from Bulgari have not made a comment about the missing jewels.
