Mirthala Salinas and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa are dating. Villaraigosa, who is in the process of a divorce from his wife Corina, has admitted to a relationship with Mirthala Salinas, a Spanish television reporter.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, Villaraigosa reveals that he and Mirthala Salinas are, in fact, seeing each other, something many suspected to be the reason for his wife filing for divorce on June 12.
The mayor issued a statement published by the Los Angeles Daily News Tuesday, in which admitted to a relationship with Mirthala Salinas, and that he takes "full responsibility" for his "actions".
"It is true that I have a relationship with Ms. Mirthala Salinas. As I've said I take full responsibility for my actions, and I once again ask that people respect my family's privacy. For my part, I intend to stay focused on my job, and to work as hard as I can every day to be the best mayor I can be."

Let's start with the fact that the Mayor is an adulterer. That in and of itself raises ethical concerns. Did he use her for favorable treatment or to get a story published? He's morally bankrupt. I don't want someone like that leading my city. Unless of course that's what the community endorses. I say no.
The interesting twist is that he's co-chair of Hillary's National Democratic election campaign. What a joke. On the positive side maybe he and Bill can go clubbing together. Let's see what Hillary does with him. She's a power hungry wench. I can see her keeping him around so she can cater to the Hispanic vote. After all that's the only reason she picked him in the first place. I can't believe the Hispanics don't see right through that. Hillary has no ethics though so there's probably not a problem. Imagine the news conference dumping him and the question arises WHY? The mayor didn't do anything that Bill hasn't done. LOL Slime deserves slime.

The mayor was elected to serve the people, not be banging the journalist who was reporting on him. Maybe she didn't understand what "covering him" meant.
Defend Clinton if you like for such behavior, but it occured in the work place while on duty. I thought that mattered to the feminists. As governor he used troopers and vehicles on overtime pay to facilitate his affairs. It is not his private business or any public official's private business when he is doing it on the job or using government resources to facilitate it. For goodness sakes, Monica Lewinsky, who Clinton's spinners described as a "troubled stalker," was given TOP SECRET clearance at the Pentagon --- she had higher clearance than most generals. Amazingly, some of you probably think there is nothing wrong with that. You are the problem as much as Bill and Antonio.
Reasonable people, no matter if they are on the political left or right, should believe it is a real problem when the chief law enforcement offical of our country tries to fix a federal trial and deny a lowly employee her day in court.

Your comment is so biased on the negative. What the Mayor does with his private life is his business. As long as he does a first clas job for the City of Los Angeles, that is what matters.
Look at out idiot President Bush, walking hand in hand with wife and his bible. Yet he has totally screwed our country with war and lies and corruption in the White House. Bill Clinton (no saint) is looked with rock star status world wide . Bush is looked on as the world's No.1 terrorist living inside a military fortress.
Give me leaders like Clinton and Villraigosa any day

How observant to acknowledge that Clinton is no saint. Actually, he was the best friend of the Chinese military. He changed the rules that allowed satellite technology to be sold to them, as if it would only be used for commercial purposes. I'm sure you don't know, because you are still on your kneepads and have Clinton DNA dripping down your chin, but the Chinese military advanced a generation in its ability to launch satellites and not have them blow up on the launching pad. Bernie Schwartz of Loral was about to be indicted by Reno's Justice Department. But a funny thing happened. With a stroke of a pen, Clinton changed the law so that what Schwartz did was not a crime. Look this up and verify it. The largest donor to the DNC in the 1996 election cycle was Bernie Schwartz and Loral --- to the tune of $900,000. Forget all the other scandals, the IRS abuses (hidden in the redacted Barrett Report - go look up that one), the rape of Juanita Broaddrick, the intimidation of witnesses, the perjury and suborning of perjury, the false affidavit turned into the court, etc. Look at the Chinese money scandal. Thanks to what Clinton did, the Chinese military now has the ability to incinerate you and your children. Think of Bill as a rockstar if you like. Go read THE YEAR OF THE RAT and learn something.
