Uzbekistan Airways To renew its AirPark

Bobur Kommilov of "Uzbekistan Today" says the new contract signed by country's national airways is to help modernise the company's operations on anew level.

The republic’s “Uzbekistan Airways”, a largest air-service lifter in the region is to renew its airpark with six A320-200s to be delivered soon to the disposal of the company.

The wide scale of reforms being carried out in all the spheres of the national economy has already been serving as a significant basis for renewing a very wide range of sectors that “border on” direct supply of services to the population. Air carriage has as of late been another sector that has been enjoying constant renewal and modernization. For the years after its foundation, the “Uzbekistan Airways” has gone notable changes in a bid to transformation of its system and the level of services into the level widely implemented worldwide.

The national air carrier of the country has also been on the constant lookout for new standards that has resulted in the subsequent renovations and the successful implementation of new innovations directed to raising the extend of its flight networks and its international reputation.

The decision of the airline for Airbus follows a thorough evaluation process. The new A320s will replace older aircraft in the framework of Uzbekistan Airways` fleet modernization programme, reducing fuel consumption and operating costs. The engines have yet to be chosen.

Uzbekistan Airways will place the aircraft on domestic as well as on international routes, including destinations such as Delhi, Amristar and Lahore, as part of a dynamic route expansion plan. The carrier currently operates scheduled flights to more than 40 cities around the world in the US, Europe, Middle East and Central Asia. Uzbekistan Airways plans to continuously increase the number of destinations in the coming years.
