Dansk Supermarked Signs 3-Year Services Contract With IBM

IBM and Dansk Supermarked A/S, Denmark's leading retailer, including 1,125 Netto-stores in Denmark, Germany, Poland, UK and Sweden, have signed a 3-year services contract for IBM to manage operations and infrastructure on the existing systems as well as building up and run infrastructure to support new SAP applications.

The contract is an extension of existing services contract, which was signed in 2004. The new contract will run until 2009 and is expanded with the SAP services.

To support the growth strategy Dansk Supermarked has decided to migrate from their existing in-house developed applications to a standard system based application portfolio.

IBM will be responsible for the operation of existing as well as new systems as Dansk Supermarked transforms to a new retail solution.

"Our IT-strategy and the agreement with IBM will provide us with flexible solutions, enabling us to quickly adapt to fast-changing demands in the market, " says Alan Jensen, IT director for Dansk Supermarked.

The contract was signed in November 2006.
