‘Live Earth’ Calls On Green Planet

Biggest pop stars performed at ‘Live Earth’ concerts all around the world to remind everyone about global warming.

Stars like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna, The Police, Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Linkin Park, Shakira and many others sang for green planet in Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hamburg, Johannesburg, London, Washington, New Jersey, Rio de Janeiro.

These concerts are aimed to remind everyone about global warming, to fight environmental pollutions and to make leaders sign a new rule in 2009 to cut global warming pollution by 90 percent by 2050.

The idea of ‘Live Earth’ is environmentalist Al Gore, a former president of US. He is the author of environmental documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. He lost presidential election in 2000. But Gore ensures that this concert idea has only environmental, but not political purposes.

Madonna concluded London's concert at Wembley stadium performing Hey You, especially written for ‘Live Earth’. During her performance, screens showed images of environmental disasters.

"I'd like to ... thank Al Gore ... for giving the world the wake-up call it so badly needs and for starting an avalanche of awareness that we are running out if time," Madonna said.

The series of concerts ended at New Jersey football stadium. The stadium huge stage was made of recycled tires. There in New Jersey Al Gore had a speech for the peoples gathered: "You are Live Earth. Today two billion of us have come together in over 130 countries on seven continents. Times like these demand action: Please sign the Live Earth pledge." HULIQ
