Dow Jones & Company (NYSE: DJ) announced on July 9 the launch of Clean Technology Investor, the industry's first daily e-newsletter and Web site covering trends, investments and companies of all sizes, whether public or private, in the clean technology and alternative energy markets. The new publication is the first product developed by the new energy and commodities group formed within Dow Jones Financial Information Services.
Clean Technology Investor will serve the growing ranks of executives and investors looking for opportunities in a full range of clean technology investments -- from biofuels to conversion technologies to nano-markets and water.
"We are very excited to step in to what, until now, has been a greatly underserved market and to bring the highest standard of news reporting to the rapidly expanding clean technology market," said Nick Elliott, managing editor of Dow Jones Newsletters. "Clean Technology Investor is the first of several key product initiatives for the U.S. energy and commodities markets. Leveraging our strong competencies and expertise on energy and commodity topics, we are developing a range of high-quality information services aimed at enhancing investor due diligence and aiding investment decisions."
Delivered via e-mail at 8 a.m. EST every business morning, the new publication will cover public or private "clean technology" companies of all sizes and provide exclusive breaking news as well as a comprehensive collection of stories from the previous day. The Clean Technology Investor Web site will provide intraday news and additional content, including an Editor's Choice section highlighting top stories, as well as a searchable archive of past news articles and features.
The new product will draw from Dow Jones' experience as the leading publisher of targeted and actionable information for investors. Dow Jones' leading private market newsletters include VentureWire, serving the venture capital community, and Private Equity Analyst and LBO Wire, serving the greater private equity and buyout industries. Clean Technology Investor is staffed by a dedicated team of U.S.-based reporters and will also include content from these existing newsletters as well as from The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires.
Unlike the few industry publications that focus on individual markets, Clean Technology Investor will offer subscribers a full array of coverage, with special detail given to:
-- Venture capital and private equity investments, with details of financings, buyouts, investor strategies, fund-raisings, IPOs and asset disposals.
-- "Pure play" public clean-tech companies, from earnings analysis to shifts in strategy, personnel changes, share price moves, and major customer wins.
-- Major corporations, reporting what energy companies and other large public players are doing to develop clean technologies in the U.S. and abroad.
-- U.S. and international legislation, with worldwide coverage of the critical policy proposals and legislative changes affecting clean technology companies and their investors.
-- Commodities pricing and industry indexes, including daily price updates on everything from corn to carbon, as well as a range of key indexes tracking the global clean technology and alternative energy markets -Dow Jones & Company
