Tutorial Spotlight: Tricia Sawyer

Tricia Sawyer is a celebrity make-up artist with her own line of products, and she developed an extremely helpful and professional series of tutorials to help promote herself and her products.

The tutorials, that Tricia Sawyer has made, are broken up into 2-8 minute videos and they can be easily watched on her website, or subscribed to as a podcast on iTunes! Holy Cow! And, she's still making them, so this podcast version is easy to download and I love that the new ones just pop up.

These videos are probably the most professionally produced available anywhere on the internet (and yes, I'm including Bobbi Brown's videos!). Trish has her own little cartoon opening with cute theme music and everything! The shots include both far away and closeups to show what she is doing, and she does a great job of explaining what she's doing and why she is using a particular color and that brush.

Trish shows how she uses her products to create day and night looks, and she doesn't really concentrate so much on the little details of how to do a particular look (eg- both Temptalia and Raquel had very in-depth smokey eye tutorials, Trish doesn't show that). I think Trish is better to watch once you have the basics down to view how a pro balances a face overall, get more tips on blending, etc. She does use her own products throughout the series, though it would be very easy to substitute in other products. I love that her palettes have a complete look in them, and I plan to order a few of them soon. Check out her videos- you won't be sorry! - Source: 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic Blog
