Internet Video Going To Screen

Sony Pictures is turning its video sharing website into movie studio.

This innovation is named"streaming entertainment network". Users will be able to post their videos, that will be judged by site editors, other sire users and entertainment studios. Winner videos will have a chance to take his video to the screen.

This is a brand new idea of integrating internet and movie studio. The collaboration will bring videos by talented authors to large screens.

"Crackle's irreverent editorial team, with a little help from our viewers, programs our provocative and entertaining channels for an audience of 25 million monthly unique users. We reward the best video creators with Crackle funding, promotion, syndication and even greater exposure to our large media partners. Great content surfaced from our open studio model is the key to our success," said Josh Felser, founder and co-president of Crackle.

Sony has acquired Grouper for $65 million and now the company is going to change it to Crackle.

Grouper is a website that offered web video sharing services. Its users could post videos at MySpace, Friendster, Blogger and Wordpress. They could also make downloads for iPod and Sony PSP.

Now when Grouper changes to Crackle, users will be automatically redirected to the new site. It will also include all previous information of Grouper transfered to the new site. HULIQ
