Vietnam To Drill in Peru

PetroVietnam’s oversea arm, the PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corp, obtained the deal to drill Block Z-47 in the Trujillo Basin at a tender held last week by Peru’s state hydrocarbons promotion agency Perupetro.

PVEP is one among seven oil and gas groups to win bids for the 13 oil and gas blocks.

The bid winners are expected to invest roughly US$1 billion in total.

Contracts will be signed soon, according to Perupetro.
PetroVietnam began its first overseas commercial production late last year at the Cendor block off the Malaysian coast. The block now yields 12,000 barrels a day for Vietnam. -Neftegaz.ru
