GoLive! Mobile, a leading provider of mobile content delivery and billing solutions in the U.S., announced on July 16 the launch of the MobiCart Website Plug-in, which can be easily installed on any web or WAP site to enable the sale and distribution of mobile content. The plug-in can be installed by web masters in minutes to enhance an existing website with mobile content downloads such as ringtones, videos, and wallpapers, and includes advanced features such as previewing, pin-code authentication, and international delivery to over 150 countries.
On a MobiCart-enabled website, when a user clicks a piece of content that is offered for mobile download, a user-friendly pop-up box guides the consumer through the purchase process. Billing is done through Premium SMS, credit card, or PayPal where applicable by country, and content is sent via SMS, WAP Push, or MMS depending on the carrier and client preferences.
"While mobile content downloads continue to explode in the U.S. and abroad, there are currently no solutions like MobiCart to mobile-enable any website in minutes," commented Shannon Kessler, a sales director at GoLive! Mobile. "MobiCart turns what used to be a 5 hour process for content providers into a 5 minute process."
According to company officials, the MobiCart plug-in is currently being used in many projects including ringtone downloads for the major motion picture Evan Almighty. GoLive! Mobile is currently working on dozens of Mobile Storefront and m-commerce implementations using the MobiCart plug-in, many of which use Premium SMS billing technology to drive revenue.
The MobiCart product works in conjunction with the company's Orbit Multimedia product, a mobile content management system which includes Digital Rights Management and intelligent content adaptation for thousands of handsets. The company also offers turn-key short code and carrier approval services to ease content providers of the industry's regulatory burdens. -GoLive! Mobile
