A giant inferno as jet plane of TAM airline colliding with shell depot after skidding fear more than two hundred dead and many inured.
Tam airline's Airbus-320 skidded off the runway in wet weather and burst into flames after crashing as plane skidded and collided with gas building barrelling across a busy highway during rush hour at the Congonhas airport in Sao Paulo.
Jet with at least 175 people on board and six crew members are feared to have died. Two people who were inside the building, possibly a gas station, that was hit by the plane were taken to a nearby hospital. Tam Flight 3054 crash took place just after plane landing through busy road in peak hours around 5.15 Pm Local time. Jet flight 3054 was en route to Sao Paulo from the southern Brazilian city of Porte Alegre. Jet accident site is in between the gas station and a warehouse owned by TAM at the runnway at Congonhas.
Runway at Congonhas airport is too short for the jets to land safely this matter already came in for discussion in the past due paucity of funds lacked attention. Another reasons enunciated by the officials is the upsurge in air travelers and lack of facilities for air traffic needed for jet planes are the cause of such major mishap.
Brazil official put the death toll to be more than thirty however experts say that abnormally high temperature would not leave any passenger alive, "I was told that the temperature inside the plane was 1,000 degrees (Celsius), so the chances of there being any survivors are practically nil," Sao Paulo State Gov. Jose Serra said at the airport
