The new phone is named BlackBerry 8820. It is the first smart phone to support both EDGE/GPRS/GSM cellular and 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi standards. Carriers will be able to access Wi-Fi network via public hotspots and home networks.
"The BlackBerry 8820 complements our carrier partners' cellular networks with the added ability to stay connected via Wi-Fi at home, through hotspots and corporate campuses," said Research In Motion
co-chief executive Mike Lazaridis.
AT&T will be the service provider for BlackBerry 8820 in US. The smart phone will come to carriers later this summer.
Here is the list of features coming with the smart phone:

* 320-240 display
* trackball navigation system
* built-in Global Positioning System
* upgraded media player
* microSD / microSDHC expandable memory slot supporting microSD memory cards up to 32GB.
Carriers will be able to use BlackBerry features without interrupting actions. The smart phone will automatically switch to the existing network and keep your voice services, web surfing, organizer access smooth. HULIQ
