Fujitsu Named A Top Technology Innovator Finalist By VARBusiness Magazine

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today announced it has been recognized as a finalist for outstanding achievement in technology innovation by VARBusiness magazine.

The Fujitsu ScanSnapâ„¢ fi-5110EOXM scanning solution was named a finalist in the Printing and Imaging category for the 4th Annual VARBusiness Tech Innovators award competition.

VARBusiness magazine, which covers the business of technology integration, honored the recipients at an awards ceremony on Oct. 23, 2006, in Huntington Beach, Calif. The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner was among nearly 700 entries submitted in 14 technology categories and was selected during a two-part judging process by VARBusiness' team of editors and a select group of solution providers.

"This year's submissions included a large number of ground-breaking innovations in various different market segments," said VARBusiness Editor, Larry Walsh. "With almost 700 vendor contributions, the competition was fierce. The finalists represent breakthroughs that will benefit our solution-provider readers and, in turn, the users of technology."

The Fujitsu ScanSnap fi-5110EOXM provides the Macintosh® community with a powerful, affordable, and easy-to-use color scanner that allows business professionals to quickly convert paper documents to Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) files that are easily organized, shared and better protected. The resulting PDF documents can be stored in a Mac® hard drive file system or a network location creating an organized, collaborative electronic filing structure. The Fujitsu ScanSnap, supporting Mac OS® X v10.4 Tigerâ„¢, has a compact, upright, "one-button" design and comes equipped with a 50-page ADF that allows users to scan at speeds up to 15 pages per minute (PPM) for single-sided documents and 30 images per minute (IPM) for double-sided documents. It is one of the fastest, single-pass duplex ADF scanners available today that address the Apple community's document imaging needs.

"Fujitsu is honored to be recognized as a finalist for the VARBusiness Tech Innovators awards," said Victor Kan, vice president of sales and marketing, Imaging Products Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "The fact that both the solution provider community and a team of VARBusiness technology editors weighed in on the decision makes it even more compelling for us. We take pride in providing innovative products to the channel and look forward to continuing that tradition in 2007."

In addition, the 2006 Tech Innovator winners were featured in the VARBusiness Dec. 4 issue, which include profiles, features and in-depth explanations of the winning technologies and products.
