The seventh and the last of Harry Potter themed books will hit the bookstore shelves on July 21. This event will drive lots of money to book selling industry.

Harry Potter books have millions of fans all around the world. Both kids and adults are waiting for ‘Deathly Hallows’ release.

There are already about 1.2 million preorders for the last Harry Potter book. This is the biggest number of preorders in the industry ever. The publisher plans to release 12 million copies of the book. All six parts of it have been sold in more than 325 million copies.

Analysts are predicting upcoming sales of the book and analyzing the whole industry in general. In 2006 US book industry revenue was about $35 billion. This is a good point, but let’ mention that there was no Harry Potter book in 2006. By 2010 book industry revenue is expected to be $42 billion. This means that book industry is prospering.

But analysts are still very worried about book reading rates decreased. Most of kids and teens are spending their times mainly surfing the web, playing video and computer games, reading news and gossips about celebrities. Book and other intellectual industries are declining, because of other forms of entertainment, such as electronic.

This is a great boost for book industry. Harry Potter books really do much for the industry prosperity. But will this single best selling books keep children reading? HULIQ
