Opera Singer Jerry Hadley Dies At 55

Jerry Hadley, world-class operatic tenor, dies in 55 because of shooting himself.

He made suicide attempt shooting himself in the head with an air rifle in his house at Clinton Corners on July 10. Jerry Hadley was taken to a hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York, where doctors helped him. But he died on July 18.

The reason for suicide were personal and financial problems. Jerry Hadley has been arrested in Manhattan in 2006 at a parking, driving while intoxicated.

Jerry Hadley was born in Princeton, Illinois, on June 16, 1952. He studied choral conducting at Bradley University in Peoria, then continued his training at University of Illinois.

He has sang with the most popular operas like New York City Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera at Covent Garden in London, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Jerry Hadley performed at Milan's La Scala, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, San Diego Opera and festivals in Glyndebourne, England, Aix-en-Provence, France, and Salzburg, Austria.

Jerry Hadley was married to Cheryll Drake Hadley and had two sons, Nathan and Ryan. But later the couple got divorced. Operatic tenor was known as a friendly and good-humored person. HULIQ
