At 7:42 a.m. PDT, United 858 landed at San Francisco International Airport and taxied to Gate G-96 without incident. During the aircraft's post-flight inspection, United ground personnel discovered what appeared to be the body of a male in the wheel well of the B-747 nose gear.
San Francisco Police and Fire Departments were notified. Once it was determined that the individual was deceased the San Mateo County Coroner was notified and responded. At approximately 10:00 a.m. PDT, the Coroner removed the body and transported it to the county morgue to determine identity and cause of death.
United Airlines has taken the aircraft in question out of service.

Robin Urbanski from the United Airline said, "This is an unfortunate and unusual occurrence and we’re fully cooperating with the authorities on this matter."
