'I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry' with Adam Sandler and Kevin James is a comedy about two Brooklyn heterosexual posing as gays. The movie was very popular because of the huge army of Adam Sandler's fans.
'Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix' based on the series of J. K. Rowling's books earned $32.2 million (€23.33 million) during its first weekend. The magical movie about boy wizard was proudly announced to be the first. But here 'Chuck & Larry' and hits box offices.
'Hairspray' comes the third with $27.8 million (€20.14 million) opening profit. John Travolta starring as a woman and Nikki Blonsky starring as a plus-sized teen girl with a big hairdo make John Waters's 1988 comedy come alive in 2007.
'Transformers' comes the fourth with $20.5 million (€14.85 million) profit. This is a fantastic movie about robots turning into cars.
'I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry' is the first among this summer's movies. But its opening profit is much less than the other movies' with Adam Sandler starring. For example, his 'Anger Management,' 'Big Daddy' and 'Click' earned more than $40 million at opening.
Anyway, 'Chuck & Larry' creators are happy with its opening success. The comedy has really attracted lots of fans and driven lots of money to box offices. HULIQ
