The International community still remains skeptical as to Uzbekistan, the country located in Central Asia as the most significant state in the region, as to its prospects as an emerging civil society and still seems clouded with doubts whereas a journalist of "Uzbekistan Today" who made a presentation of the country of over 26 million people, within an international conference on exploring liberty seems to have done a good job clearing these doubts clouding the western eyes.

Uzbekistan is a country with triving motivation and a striking outcomes that speak for its large scale and ambitious advanacement to its clear-cut prospect as a strong civil society, Bobur Kommilov said opening his presentation of "Uzbekistan - Country of Opportunities" within an international conference held in Loyola University Chicago.

The conference is being attended by the leading professoors and statesmen in international realations and diplomacy, human rights observation and scientists. Addressing the gathered, the young Uzbek journalist said Uzbekistan has been deliberately investing substantial efforts aiming at successful integration with the world community. The current indicators of the country's performance in refurbishing its political and socio-economic frontline could be the primary proof, he said.

One of the spotlights in the country's life was the announcement of its capital - Tashkent as one of the world capitals of Islamic Culture, recognised by the ISESCO. The news was warmly welcomed by both Uzbekistan and the international community. Tashkent has been honored to receive such high and honorable rank thanks to the outstanding merits of Uzbekistan before the Islamic culture and science, preservation of monuments and further enrichment of Islamic heritage.

And, in fact, the capital of independent Uzbekistan astonishes the visitors from all around the world with its grand buildings of madrassahs and mosques, libraries with the richest stocks of ancient manuscripts, and museums, where the works of grand masters, scholars and architects of Islamic renaissance, are now kept.

At the moment, the Tashkent Islamic Institute after the name of Imam al-Bukhary, Kukeldash Madrassah and Tashkent Islamic University, established upon the initiative of President Islam Karimov, operate in Tashkent.

The Uzbek journalist also mentioned that these educational institutions train the theologians, scholars of religious studies, and specialists in Islamic law, the source studies, international economy and information studies. Tashkent Islamic University is the only higher educational institution of its kind on the CIS territory.

The University has not once served as a venue to hold the international conferences, seminars, and roundtables on the urgent topics of religion and politics, tolerance and preserving peace and stability in contemporary world.

From amongst the many cities, which represent Asia, the very Tashkent has been chosen as the world capital of Islamic culture in 2007. In its choice the ISESCO has taken into consideration, above all, the policies of Uzbekistan’s Leadership aimed at reviving the cultural and spiritual values of Uzbek people, as well as the measures taken by the Government of Uzbekistan to protect and carefully preserve the monuments of Islamic civilization.

Such ISESCO choice is also explained by the fact that the rich history and culture of one of the most ancient cities in Asia – Tashkent takes a special place in the history of world civilization.

Among all other things he mentioned, the latest changes brought to the legislature attracted the participant's interest. These documents on strengthening the role of political parties in the renewal and further democratization of state governance and modernization of the country have been serving as another confirmation of uzbekistan's commitment to fully establish its status-interoperability in conformity with world's most developed sovereignties.

In response to quetsions from the gathered as to the current social policy of the country and the nation's welfare, Bobur said the government places a special significance in imporving the welfare of the people as one of the most priority directions of its political pursuit. Announced as the "Year of Social Pretection", in 2007 dozens of more state supported programs and country wide projects are underway to raise the state performance in this area to a new level.

Concluding his presentation, the young Uzbek journalist said Uzbekistan can be sited as a nation emerging in the role of the most promising market and the spotlight for the civil state building institutions with its outstanding attempts to remain firm as the "...country that will definitely make a difference".
