In Zhob district of Baluchistan, Abdullah Mehsud's house was raided - a key member of Jami at -Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) by the officials for his involvement in kidnapping of two Chinese engineers in 2004.
Atta Mohahamed Police chief of Zhob said, "Abdullah Mehsud blew himself up with a grenade and died when forces raided his hideout. Three of his accomplices were arrested for suspected links with Taliban,"
``Thanks be to God that our men were safe,'' he said.
Those arrested are taken into custody for further investigation.
Pakistan's ederal Interior Ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema Tuesday confirmed Mehsud's death and his involvement of kidnapping.
“Pakistan is committed—let the US provide actionable intelligence and you will find that Pakistan will never be lacking,” Foreign Minister Khursheed Kasuri was quoted as saying on Sunday.
