Broadband Module, IP Phone Deliver Powerful Voice over IP Capabilities to Small Businesses and Home Offices.
Inter-Tel (Delaware), Incorporated (Nasdaq: INTL), a leading provider of voice and data communications for businesses, has announced the release of the Inter-Tel(R) 3000, an advanced communications system designed to provide Voice over IP (VoIP) connectivity to small businesses and home office environments. Previously known as EncoreCX(R), the Inter-Tel 3000 scales up to 52 extensions, and features both a new broadband module and a new IP extension. It is designed to enable customers to leverage seamless IP connectivity throughout small offices, home offices and remote locations.
Building upon the success of Inter-Tel's larger VoIP platforms, the Inter- Tel(R) 5000 and the Inter-Tel(R) 7000 systems, the Inter-Tel 3000 is designed to be a user-friendly platform that manages both voice and data communications for small businesses and home offices. Its broadband module supports both high-speed Internet access as well as VoIP traffic. The broadband module is also designed to provide Local Area Network (LAN)
capabilities, allowing users to network PCs and other devices, including IP endpoints and 802.11 wireless devices. Complementing the module is the new Inter-Tel 3000 IP Phone, a hands-free, fully functional device with six-line display, 16 programmable keys, message light and headset port. The Inter-Tel 3000 requires no specialized dealer certification for installation, and is designed to allow users to administer the system as their needs change.
According to Craig W. Rauchle, president and chief operating officer of Inter-Tel, the Inter-Tel 3000 continues the company's heritage of developing technology designed to address tangible business needs.
"Many vendors mistakenly assume that small businesses lack the resources or the sophistication to fully leverage the benefits of Voice over IP technology," explains Rauchle. "In fact, the exact opposite is true. Small businesses are in constant need of reliable and cost-efficient technology that helps them compete more effectively, improve operations and control costs. The new, advanced capabilities of the Inter-Tel 3000 are designed to allow these organizations to take advantage of the benefits more commonly associated with larger IP telephony systems, without having to pay large system prices."
In addition, the Inter-Tel 3000 was developed to appeal to reseller partners who are looking to carry a product designed to be easy to sell, install and service.
"One of the most common concerns we hear from channel partners specializing in small business and home office environments is that they do not have the time or resources to invest in learning the nuances of IP communications," notes Jeffrey T. Ford, division president and chief technology officer of Inter-Tel. "The Inter-Tel 3000 requires no certification on the part of the dealer, and is designed to be highly intuitive and user- friendly. It offers our channel partners a small business-oriented IP solution they can sell and support with confidence." -Intel-Tel
