Another 527 Palestinians cross Egypt, Israel to Gaza

Another 527 Palestinians awaiting the opening of the Rafah border crossing in Egypt have left for Gaza via Israel, the MENA news agency reported Monday. The first group of 100 Palestinians arrived in the Gaza Strip Sunday evening.

The Rafah border crossing was closed four weeks ago, after the Hamas movement seized control in Gaza. About 6,000 Palestinians in the north of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt are waiting for the border to reopen.

Palestinian and Israeli authorities agreed on a list of 627 Palestinians who will be permitted to return to Gaza via Israel.

Negotiations are currently in process to coordinate a new list of Palestinians who will be able to return home later this week. - RIA Novosti
