
The exhibition, drawn from the archives of noted baseball collector Marshall Fogel, showcases 17 vintage photographs as well as several important pieces of memorabilia, including bats used by both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The exhibition will be on view through September 30.
Capturing America’s Game: Photographs of Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig honors two of the most famous “boys of summer” and provides a window into the early days of baseball. Baseball’s popularity took off in the 1920s, a period when several major cities built large baseball stadiums and many urban newspapers added sports sections to their papers.
Throughout the run of Capturing America’s Game, each visitor– from Little Leaguers to baseball fanatics – who wears a baseball uniform or a professional baseball team’s jersey to the Museum will get $2 off one adult admission ticket. -- www.denverartmuseum.org
