All students’ train with professional faculty and renowned resident artists in the TUTS Studios located at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts (800 Bagby at Walker).
Looking for triple threat training? The Academy offers dedicated, career-track students, a 24-week program featuring intensive training in all three disciplines. Classes include Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Studies in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Acting, Improvisation, Voice and Music Theory. Students will have the opportunity to perform in a live, professionally produced showcase at the end-of-term for family and friends. Auditions for the Academy are required and will be held on August 11 in the TUTS Studios.
Expand your horizons through enrichment courses in the Studio! Designed for Amateur and Professional students, the Studio features quality theatre training through exciting specialty classes. Classes include Broadway Babies, an introductory musical theatre workshop for families; After-School Studio, students sing, dance and act to popular show tunes (open to ages 3-14); Vocal Studio, learn basic vocal projection, pitch, intonation, and diction (open to ages 7-18); Hip Hop Studio, concentrates on basic Hip Hop, street jazz, and the latest contemporary dance steps and combinations (open to ages 7-18 & Adult Hip Hop Studio ages 18 & up); Acting Studio, basic techniques in voice, projection, diction, and character development (open to ages 7-18 & Adult Acting Studio ages 18 & up ); Dancing with TUTS, learn the basic elements of musical theatre specialty dancing including Disco, Country Western, Swing, and Salsa (open to ages 18 & up); and Adult Tap Studio, an introductory tap course on both classic and contemporary dance styles (open to ages 18 & up).
