In the firm’s latest report, “Insurance Software Deal Trends 2005-2006, Life/Health Edition,” Celent named CSC a leading full policy administration vendor in its Core Processing category, which includes all policy processing and policyholder service functions. CSC was also recognized as a “Traction Index” leader, which Celent determined by a weighted score that measures the volume and type of agreements software companies made during 2005 and 2006.
Celent has surveyed vendors to report the number of software license agreements with insurance carriers since 2001. Since then, of the vendors identified as full policy administration system leaders, CSC has signed the most agreements – more than twice its nearest competitor.
“CSC is committed to providing life and annuity software that supports business success, and we work with a vibrant community of software users to continually enhance the results they get from our products,” said Michael W. Risley, president of the Life and Annuity Division of CSC’s Financial Services Sector. “We take special pride in providing the industry’s most comprehensive end-to-end software, and we appreciate the validation of firms such as Celent, as well as the market itself.”
In its fourth annual Insurance Software Deal Trends reports, Celent examined 1,405 deals that occurred in 2005 and 2006 between insurance carriers and 92 software vendors. Of this total, 45 percent of the agreements involved life/annuity/health insurers. The reports provide readers with a snapshot of leading software vendors in the insurance vertical and insights into functions that carriers are targeting for investment.-CSC release
