Tomy Xiao TIP-521 is the first digital camera in the market that comes with an integrated ZINK printer, so users can print those captured images immediately.
The built-in printer of this digital camera doesn't consume any ink. It uses ZINK Paper, an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals. And it heats the ZINK paper up to activate and colorize the crystals and prints borderless images directly to the ZINK paper.
The Tomy Xiao TIP-521 camera sports a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, equipped with a 2.4-inch LCD display, and 39mm equivalent fixed focal length lens. It has a built-in memory of 16GB, and equipped with SDHC/SD memory card slot for expansion.
The cost of the ZINK paper is about USD $9 for a set of 10. Printing one image onto the ZINK paper takes less than 60 seconds. This is a handy feature for those shooters who're so eager to get their photos printed immediately while they're on the go.
The Tomy digital camera is available in three colors, which are black, magenta and green-marine. It will be available on Nov 28 for approximately 34,800 yen ($357) in Japan. Article brought to you by TechChee.com Gadget Blog
