Live And Direct's Spectacular London Launch

Soho Theatre, London, played host to Contact's spectacular Live & Direct launch last week. The launch gave Artistic Directors, nationally, the opportunity to meet past 'graduates' from the annual programme, and find out about the new work that is now being produced by them.

Artistic Director, Karena Johnson, said: "It was a pleasure for Contact to launch Live and Direct at Soho Theatre. It was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the gradates of the pioneering training programme. This was also an opportunity to announce the winners of live and direct 2007 - Annie George, Keith Saha, Jonathan Man.

Live and Direct is a programme that trains and promotes emerging Black and Asian theatre directors. Contact has been working in partnership with Nitro and Tara Arts, along with the Arts Council England over the past four years, and the course will be going into it's fifth in January 2007.

Three directors who participated in Live and Direct earlier in 2006 will be showing their work at Contact this January. Three directors, three plays, three nights.
