Welcome to Nature Nights, a special series of evening programs designed to share our wonderous nature in Central Texas. Join us one Friday each month in the Fall (September through November) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. - just $1.00 per person and free for members & EcoExplorers.

Each program we will explore new topics - people & plants, spiders, & owls - learning about Texas culture, animal habits and habitats. Each program will also feature a habitat hike, thematic crafts, & activities galore!

The schedule for Fall Nature Nights is:

September 21 --- Wild Plants & People; From dyes to jelly, medicine to your daily meal, find out how native plants influence our culture in the past & in your future. Learn something new through demonstrations on dyeing with native plants, on cooking with native plants, & crafting with native plants. We'll also lead wild walks through our nature trails.

October 19 --– Step Into My Web with Spiders; Meet experts "Spider Joe" Lapp and Dave Moellendorf of Austin Arachnological Services and some of their friends for an engaging evening on spiders!

November 9 --- Owls On the Prowl: Engage in the world of owls as we listen for a hoot, a screech, or a yowl at the Wildflower Center. Discover what an owl has for lunch when we dissect owl pellets. Join us on a few "owl prowls" as we learn to identify owls in their habitat. -- www.wildflower.org
