Festival coordinator Ross Tighe says the event is now considered one of the top three jazz festivals in the state.
He is encouraging the local community to support the event and embrace a different style of music.
"It backs nearly every television ad you see or program on television in one way or other, it's just a different style, I think they just think of it as the traditional jazz when there's swing and blues and mainstream, there's that many different styles it doesn't matter," he said. © 2007 Australian Broadcasting Corporation
