Glyndebourne Opera Autumn Tour

Glyndebourne Opera on Tour announces its repertoire for Autumn 2007, under the leadership of new Music Director Robin Ticciati. Fresh from the success of his Festival debut, which won him plaudits as a remarkable and exciting emergent talent, Robin Ticciati will conduct a revival of Richard Jones’s production of Verdi’s Macbeth, following its sell-out run at the 2007 Festival.

Glyndebourne is delighted to present a new production of Donizetti’s romantic comedy L’elisir d’amore, created especially for the 2007 Tour by director Annabel Arden, and conducted by the young Italian, Enrique Mazzola, making his house debut.

Sir Peter Hall’s classic production of Albert Herring completes the programme, having enjoyed great acclaim when it toured five years ago, establishing it as a firm favourite within the Glyndebourne repertoire.

In 2006 over 48,000 people attended Glyndebourne on Tour performances and the GOT box office was on target with an average of 81% capacity. We were delighted to return to Sadler’s Wells for the first time since 1993 and are very pleased to be performing there again this year.

The Tour is made possible through the continued generosity of Arts Council England, and this year is further sponsored by Lexus. After a three week run at Glyndebourne (9th – 27th October), the Tour will travel to Woking (30th October – 3rd November), Milton Keynes (6th – 10th November), Norwich (13th – 17th November), Plymouth (20th – 24th November), Stoke-on-Trent (20th November – 1st December) and Sadler’s Wells (4th – 8th December).

Glyndebourne Opera on Tour 2007 will also revive its hugely successful initiative of schools’ matinees, offering access to students of various age-groups to three performances at Glyndebourne in October. -- www.glyndebourne.com
