CME Group Establishes New Options Volume Record

Third Consecutive Day for Interest Rate Product Volume Records

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse exchange, set a new options on futures volume record on August 10, 2007, when 4,282,604 options traded. The previous record was 4,154,124 options contracts traded on August 8, 2007. Interest Rate options set the pace on Friday with 3,876,484 options traded, overtaking the combined record of 3,826,303 options traded on June 2, 2006. Eurodollar options comprised the majority of Friday's activity with a record 3,486,274 options traded. This new record overtook the previous one of 3,264,045 set on August 8, 2007. An additional Interest Rate Product record was achieved in 30-year Interest Rate Swap futures with 948 contracts traded.

For a second consecutive day, Mini-sized Dow Jones(SM)($5) futures and options reached a new record with 367,130 contracts traded. The previous record, set on August 9, 2007, was 350,467 contracts.

Month-to-date, CME Group average daily volume stands at 16,620,049 contracts, representing a 99 percent increase over combined August 2006 average daily volume. -Chicago Mercantile Exchange
