Kaeja d’Dance Presents Dance Screenings

On October 26, 2007 The Drake Hotel will be buzzing with the energy of aspiring and established dance filmmakers as the first annual MA Dance Screen Salon produced by Kaeja d’Dance gets underway.

“There is a fantastic array of dance film blossoming in this country by exceptional artists. We are inspired to mobilize the current success, investigation and the future potential of the dance on screen genre in Canada, by further exposing this fascinating imagistic language to arts lovers of Toronto.” Karen Kaeja

Pioneers in the emerging genre of dance on screen, Karen and Allen Kaeja have created 14 dance films over the past 10 years, which have been acclaimed by critics and dance audiences alike. Kaeja d’Dance is committed to engaging and supporting new artists in this burgeoning field.

In addition to the screenings, MADance Screen Salon will include discussions with facilitators, filmmakers, choreographers and film buffs on pre-determined topics surrounding new ideas in this genre to further encourage the development of the dance film community in Toronto.
