Five Stars to the University of Sydney

The University of Sydney has again ranked highly in the latest edition of The Good Universities Guide.

Independent of universities and government, the 2008 Guide, published by Hobsons, looks at a broad range of indicators across all Australian universities and higher education providers.

The University of Sydney is judged to have "a strong reputation in research and a large, diverse undergraduate menu."

The publication underlines what thousands of students have already discovered. "With age, tradition and location on its side, Sydney does not want for bright, young students and claims a top spot in the academic pecking order."

The Guide awards Sydney their highest five star rating for well above average performance in the following categories: staff-student ratios, cultural diversity, gender balance, international enrolments, non-government earnings, research grants and research intensivity. -University of Sydney
