
A passenger plane has caught fire on the runway at Naha airport on the Japanese island of Okinawa.
China airlines Flight 122 had just arrived from Taipei and was at the arrival gate when it caught fire.
Japanese televisions stations have quoted eyewitnesses who reported hearing explosions, but it is believed all passengers have been able to evacuate.
It is not clear however whether the crew have been able to escape.
Firefighters are still on the scene and dowsing the late series 737 Jet with foam as it continues to burn. - By Shane McLeod of Australian Broadcast Corporation

According to reports, all the passengers have escaped safely. VOA reports: "A dramatic evacuation of a China Airlines Boeing 737-800 is being credited for saving all of the passengers and crew minutes before the plane burst into a fireball. Just three people were taken to hospital - two passengers who felt sick, and a firefighter with heat stroke."
