Grand Theatre Lights Up Blackpool Illuminations

The Grand Theatre, Blackpool is a beautiful 1,080-seat Victorian theatre which was designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham in 1894. This amazing building offers Blackpool and Fylde Coast residents and visitors a packed year-round programme of live theatre from opera, ballet, plays, comedies, musicals, contemporary drama and dance to fun children's shows and of course pantomime!

Coming up this illuminations season at the Grand is the dazzling premiere of South Pacific in August starring master of musicals Dave Willetts (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar and Phantom of the Opera) and Helena Blackman (from the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?)

There's also the welcome return of the National Theatre to the Grand after almost ten years with Alan Bennett's award-winning play The History Boys in October, a series of lectures and talks from eminent theatre makers and scholars, the amazing Peter Pan on Ice with the world famous Russian Ice Stars on a stage of real ice. And don’t forget the enchanting Angelina Ballerina from English National Ballet.

Or how about master of merriment Ken Dodd, legendary entertainer Joe Longthorne with special guests and fabulous new farce There's No Place Like A Home starring Gorden Kaye, Ken Morley, Don McLean and Brian Cant.-- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
