Palm Desert, CA - McCallum Theatre Institute, the education division of the McCallum Theatre is proud to announce the return of OPEN CALL 2007. This Valley-wide competition is a perfect opportunity to showcase your talent! If you sing, dance, play an instrument, juggle, perform magic, comedy or any other self-contained novelty act, here's your chance to perform at the renowned McCallum Theatre for packed audiences- with a chance to win CASH prizes!
The deadline to submit your entry is February 2, 2007. Submission information and live audition and rehearsal dates are available on our website at mccallumtheatre.com/opencall.asp. Finalists will appear on stage at the McCallum Theatre in three performances. At the 7pm performance on Friday, April 27 and the 2pm performance on Saturday, April 28, the audience will participate by voting. Audience votes will carry the weight of one judge's vote in the final performance at 7pm on Saturday, April 28, 2007 where winners will be announced.
Cash prizes will be awarded with a grand prize of $1500, a 2nd place $750 prize and a $750 audience choice award. In addition to the cash award, the grand prize-winner will appear as an opening act during the 2007-2008 season!
