Radio Wave Breakfast Show At Blackpool's Grand Theatre

Janine will be replacing Helen Bowden who was to star as Fairy, but Helen's recent appointment as Managing Director of the Blackpool-based Radio Wave 96.5fm has meant that she has had to reluctantly step down.

Helen said, "I am incredibly sad not to be able to do panto this year, the tiara was made for me! However, I now have a very big and new challenge and have to hand over the wand. Janine will be marvellous. She is a great asset to Radio Wave and will make panto fabulous this year. I will miss the opportunity but am sure that it will be a great success and I wish all the cast and the Grand Theatre well."

Janine who co-presents Radio Wave's breakfast show with Roy Lynch and also has her own Sunday afternoon show is looking forward to her debut on the Grand's stage. Other cast members for this year's pantomime DICK WHITTINGTON include Ray Meagher as King Rat. Ray is best known as Alf Stewart from Home and Away and he also starred in the cult smash hit television series Prisoner Cell Block H. Lancashire's favourite family entertainer and BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Steve Royle co-star of this summer's Variety at Night, returns for his fourth panto in a row, as Idle Jack.

Andrew Newton-Lee from Hollyoaks will play the title role of Dick Whittington and the gorgeous Michelle Hughes from Nickelodeon and girl band Girl Thing makes her third panto appearance at the Grand, as Alice Fitzwarren. The line-up is completed with Mark Two making his Grand Theatre debut as the Ship's Captain and Charles Burden one of the country's most versatile performers with over 25 years of pantomime dame under his belt as Sarah the Cook.
