In addition to the more than 400 regional artists who showcase and sell their work, Clothesline boasts some new features this year, among them expanded entertainment, reorganized grounds, new-to-the-Festival food vendors and Creative Workshop art demonstrations.
Saturday kicks off two full days of live entertainment on our new soundstage (schedule below) and features appearances by some very special guests. Mayor Bob Duffy, County Executive Maggie Brooks, State Senator Joe Robach and Assemblyman Joe Morelle are scheduled to be the “students” at a special painting activity led by Creative Workshop instructor Dick Kane.
At 4 pm Saturday, Merit Award winners will be announced. Also look for this 2006 award winners: Annie Adams of Buffalo, jewelry (pictured); Sarah Danforth of East Aurora, ceramics; Wilhelm Haas of Spencerport, woodworking/sculpture; Julie Johnson of Interlaken, ceramics; Constance Mauro of Rochester, printmaking; Mark McDermott of East Rochester, furniture; Mary McMahon of Geneseo, textiles; Judith Reif Snyder of Naples, painting/drawing; Timothy See of Liverpool, ceramics; and Patricia Wilder of Victor, photography. The fun continues Sunday with another full day of art and entertainment.
Rochester’s oldest and largest arts and crafts festival is celebrating its 51st year. At Clothesline, more than 400 artists from 27 counties exhibit and sell their own works on the Gallery’s 17-acre campus. We’ve reorganized the grounds and expanded the entertainment. Festival goers will enjoy a two-day lineup of local performers—many of whom are new to Clothesline—from a new covered soundstage on the back lawn, adjacent to the food court.

• ART DEMOS / PAINT PEN: From 10 am to 3 pm both days in the Creative Workshop, learn about about year-round classes for kids, teen and adults and enjoy demonstrations by three of our teaching artists. Kids ages 4–8 can also enjoy the Paint Pen, a supervised art activity which is free this year.
• FOOD & DRINK: Three new vendors—Bayou Billy’s, Bunny’s Mediterranean and Chef Marco’s—have joined the roster. Also on hand are Cutler’s Restaurant, Red Osier, Simply Crepes, the Gallery Bakery (serving Domino’s Pizza and Genesee Bakery specialties), Corn Hill Creamery, Hal’s Kettle Corn, Mr. Nutty, Canaltown Coffee Roasters, Coca-Cola, Heron Hills Winery and High Falls Brewery. -- mag.rochester.edu
